The Body Poets will be featured on a new variety group competition show called, “Fake Off,” on truTV October 27th. The high energy, illusion movement group with a number of amazing street dancers will represent San Diego on “Fake Off” competing against 9 other variety groups.
According to the truTV website, “[Fake Off] will feature ten teams from around the country competing against each other in the captivating art of Faking, a mix of theater, acrobatics, black light and illusion. The teams will reimagine iconic moments in pop culture, as they face an impressive judging panel that includes music superstar and five-time Grammy winner Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of the mega-group TLC; actor-dancer-choreographer Harry Shum Jr. (GLEE, THE LXD); and world renowned visual & concept designer Michael Curry (Broadway’s THE LION KING, Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE).”
Straight out of San Diego since 2005, The Body Poets are not your average dance crew though they reaching to new heights as a versatile performing group with bboys, poppers, lockers, and freestylers. Having been featured on America’s Got Talent, competed in various battles, toured and performed around the USA, auditioned for America’s Best Dance Crew, and more, The Body Poets are sure to bring their experience and energy to the “Fake Off” stage.
